SECTOR CAPACITY BUILDING My Voice is a privately created training and consultancy company based in Sydney NSW providing services to people with disabilities, their families and disability service providers. In an individualised funding environment, My Voice aims to equip people with disabilities, their families, carers and decision makers with the skills needed to make their purchasing decisions, manage budgets, staff and ultimately small businesses, taking leading roles within their communities. At My Voice, we understand that the shift from service provider directed care and support, to service user directed care and support, requires a comprehensive change in the model of service delivery. The person with the disability and his/her family and carers are no longer passive recipients, but at times well-informed, capable and demanding consumers. My Voice is well prepared to participate in the capacity building of the disability sector and provide training or re-training to frontline staff and management of disability organisations. We are ready to support organisations providing lifestyle services during the transition phase. We are engaged with all the relevant stakeholders and work cooperatively with government, disability organisations and consumers. |

FRONTLINE STAFF TRAINING Working for a person or family who are self-managing and self directing their supports is very different to the traditional arrangement where a staff member is engaged by a provider. It is a new relationship with a range of benefits for those who are able to make the transition. In this training we support frontline staff to learn how to provide care to a person who is also his or her employer. We look at the unique features of this relationship, rights and responsibilities and how to make and develop personal career paths. My Voice can work with staff as part of our Direct Payment and Self Management training, or separately to individuals and groups on demand. SECTOR CAPABILITY: DISABILITY AWARENESS AND INCLUSION My Voice provides Disability Awareness and Inclusion training for organisations seeking to create more accessible and inclusive services and products. Our training focuses on the development of customer service basics, building the capability of the organisation to respond to access and equity requirements, developing great communication strategies, and understanding and developing inclusionary practices. Our training is delivered by people with disabilities and based on lived experience. We can provide a specific quote to meet your requirements. |
